In some cities and towns all over the world the high volume of traffic is a problem. What are the causes of this and what actions can be taken to solve this problem? OR
Traffic on roads has become a problem in nearly every country in the world. What can be done to reduce the amount of traffic at a society level and at an individual level?
Sample Essay
It is undoubtedly the case that urban areas around the world increasingly suffer from congestion. In this essay, I examine the reasons for this trend and suggest some practical policies the authorities could implement to reduce the level of traffic in our cities.
The first step is to understand why traffic has increased in towns and cities. Broadly speaking, there are three main reasons for this. One is that cars have become more affordable for the average consumer, and they are no longer a luxury item, but something that most families expect to own. A second reason is that public transport has become increasingly unreliable in recent years, not least because many bus and train services have been reduced because of the difficulty in funding them. The third reason is that society has, in general, become more mobile and this means more people are prepared to commute to work by car than they were before.
There is almost certainly no one solution to this problem, given the complexity of its causes. However, one option has to be to improve the reliability of public transport to encourage people to take the bus or the train rather than get in the car. It would also be possible to discourage people from driving to work by introducing special tariffs for using the roads, especially during peak periods. A successful example of this is the congestion charge scheme in London, which has certainly reduced the level of traffic in inner-city areas.
In conclusion, there are a variety of different factors that have led to rising levels of traffic in urban areas. While it may not be possible to find a complete solution, any action should probably involve encouraging greater use of public transport and making it more expensive for the motorist to drive in urban areas.

Nowadays congestion and traffic jams are a common and major problem in most cities. Some people believe it is a good idea to construct wider roads to resolve this issue. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? What can be the solution, in your opinion?

Hello this is my writing: Frankly, with human development and progress, there are still problems that cannot be solved for countries, one of the most important of these problems is traffic on the roads.in the following essay, the solutions at society level and individual level will be discussed. In my opinion, traffic on the roads is increasing for three main reasons, the first reason is the increase in cars compared to the population, this mean each family has a few cars that are more than they actually need, and this is the biggest reason for the increase in traffic. The second reason is people' incorrect culture for driving. This means that people don't pay attention to the rules and make traffic more by not following the protocols. The third reason is the lack of standards road, which sometimes creates long traffic due to the lack of proper roads and the traffic of cars on busy roads. Sadly, this problem also has individual reasons that are very important and effective. The first reason is the cheapness of the car and its availability to everyone, this means that nowadays everyone can have several cars which may not be required and may be redundant. The second reason is the wrong thinking of people in the past few years, instead of using public transportation more, they turn to private cars and think that it is cheaper and better. The third individual reason is that usually people tend to travel or move alone. This makes people feel much better and makes each family member have their own car, which increases traffic over time. In cnclosion, traffic on the roads is one of the basic problems of today's society, which causes the loss of many important things in the society. To solve these problems, the government can invest in building a culture and teaching the correct use of the car, teaching the rules and building standard roads for driving. On the other hand, people can be very helpful in solving this problem by using public transportation more and changing their thoughts about it.

Lastly, many people prefer to travel alone, which increases the number of vehicles on the roads as each family member opts for their own car, contributing to congestion. In conclusion, road traffic remains a pressing issue in modern society, leading to significant losses in productivity and quality of life. To address these problems, governments should invest in road infrastructure, promote a culture of responsible driving, and enforce traffic laws more effectively. On an individual level, people can contribute to reducing traffic by making greater use of public transportation and rethinking their reliance on private vehicles. Together, these measures could greatly alleviate the growing traffic problem.
