Academic IELTS Writing Task 2 Topic: Education & Band 8.0 Sample

Academic IELTS Writing Task 2 Topic: Education & Band 8.0 Sample

Writing Task 2 :

Topic: In schools and universities, girls tend to choose arts while boys like science. What are the reasons for this trend and do you think this tendency should be changed?

It is undeniable that scientific domains of study seem to be preferred by schoolboys whilst schoolgirls are inclined to show fancy for ones related to arts. From my perspective, several reasons could explain this tendency and it should undergo a change.

There are two main causes responsible for the difference in subject selections between boys and girls. First and foremost, it derives from natural strengths of each gender. It is an inescapable fact that various male students are better at rational and logical thinking in science; hence, they reveal preference for mathematical and physical realms while the other sex may be more emotional and sensitive to have advantages in perceiving arts or languages. Equally importantly, the traditional belief is another contributing factor deciding that divergence. In fact, a number of parents orientate their girls towards the choice of artistic fields to become elegant and their sons to pursue science subjects for their future career.

I believe that there is a necessity to change the aforementioned trend. Both male and female children should be encouraged to find the right balance between arts and science subjects. Several scientific studies prove that learning arts could boost children’s creativity and imagination power, enabling them to get insight into scientific subjects with greater efficiency; meanwhile, majors namely maths or physics also generate opportunities for female learners to develop their left brain and enhance problem-solving competences. Furthermore, as regards numerous female students who have a flair for maths and engineering, forcing them to specialize in artistic scopes may produce counterproductive outcomes. This compulsion is likely to cause resentment and negative attitudes towards their study, followed by low levels of academic performance.

To conclude, that girls prefer arts but boys tend to choose science subjects for education could be justified for several above-mentioned reasons. Nonetheless, I argue for a change of this situation.

it is a commonplace thought that girls show fancy for art majors while boys favor science in different stages of their learning. this essay submits that reasons for this divergence lie with various natures of both genders and it should be revised. it is irrefutable that, girls are highly likely to be successful in arts thanks to their sensitive an elegant morale; hence, they are intrinsically avid for aesthetic inward aspects of different phenomena. This instinctive tendency predispose them toward relishing arts. in contrast, male learner are inherently better at rational and logical thinking; therefore, they are more gravitated toward lesson premised on facts. It should not escape unnoticed that conventional believes are another reason in driving a certain gender to pursue a special career; for instance, a host of parents manipulate their children int seeking enormous wealth through physician or engineering. on the contrary, there is a prejudice which posit that female are not apt for professions associated with seemingly arduous tasks. Education authorities should implement long-term policies to bridge aforementioned gap between two gender in their sought options. There is evidence suggests that learning arts could boost students' creativity and imagination to aid them in getting insight into science; meanwhile, majors such as math or physic can be an asset in developing their left brain and ultimately fortifying their problem solving competences. therefore, students should strike a balance between science and arts. as long as parents exhort children to specialize in certain majors, they will be more prone to get away from education and the results would be counterproductive. in conclusion, it is not fallible to say that girls prefer art while science is more favorable option midst boys; however, I firmly believe that learners should be given free rein to chose their tailor- made career.

It is often argued that girls have a huge tendency toward arts in school or university; while, scientific domains seem to be preferred by schoolboys. From my perspective, several reasons could explain this trend, and it should undergo a change. To begin with, there is a widen gap between girls and boys in subjects selection. It is a common myth that art major is not an apt way to achieve decent revenue; in addition, men carry the burden of making a living as it has been imposed to them by community. Furthermore, science subject has been portrayed by society as an adequate option to earn a sufficiently high income; Therefore, society gives men free rein to make a decision on their preferred and money maker majors. Equal importantly, traditional beliefs is another contributing factor deciding that divergence. Indeed, many parents orientate their girls toward the choice of artistic fields because society has been contemplated a woman as a sensitive person. For instance, according to shreds of evidence plentiful of chefs or musicians are women. Hence, conventional thoughts lead to compulsory choices in both gender. In my opinion aforementioned trend must be altered as each person should have the equal right to determine about their elective subject. Individuals are inherently unequal in intelligence, skills, and status; thus, people’s talents should be pondered as a priority, after that they can choose an appropriate decision, this policy can pave the way for cultivating children’s natural competences. Additionally, each person has predisposition toward specific major, it can be rooted in their upbringing or attitude. In other words, individuals should have the right to opt a certain field which is likable and favorable. To put it in other word, each gender in the same manner can choose their personal subject which is associated with their intelligence and taste. For example, there are myriads of women which played an active role in different science innovations, or men which were the leading painters such as Picasso. Hence, various sex should have a balanced due for ascertaining their preferred major. In conclusion, it is an inescapable fact that each person has its own flair; while, for decades due to some traditional limitation for different gender selected subjects have been constrained for each sex. Nonetheless, some alternations should be considered as individuals are born by various abilities.

Some people say girls are more attracted to artistic majors in schools and universities, while boys are interested in science. Although there are a lot of cultural and social reasons behind this attitude, I would argue that this need to be advanced. There are variety of different factors for this point of view. First of all, it might be related to culture which inherited to us from the past because in each civilization even a single sight or tradition might transfer to next generation so this is not people fault. Sometimes they are just think in a way which is dictated to. As a result, male and female view might not change over periods. Moreover, societies would refuse odd choices. For instance, men would prefer to stay at home and do household chores rather than be in charge for financial part of life. In despite of all these reasons mentioned above, I highly recommend no discrimination between genders. As these days both men and women are working as the same as each other to earn money for a living so they should not be prevented because of this thought. However, due to some natural differences, it might be inevitable. So this is the responsibility of all us to take an action today for this tendency. I guess if the public at large be aware of these kinds of choosing besides, governments prepare positions of occupations without any attention to sexes the world will approach a brighter future for mankind. To sum up, despite some obvious reasons for specific choices of young people, there is still hope for changing this old views certainly.

One of the controversial topics relates to select main major in colleges is trending schoolgirls to girlish issues such as art while schoolboys willing to boyish topics like learning science domains. The main reason that mentioned in the essay as the cause of fading the attitude is avoiding introduce sexual majors to youngsters and limitation of pupil’s personal potentials. In some attitudes, girls have magnificent imagination powers and it assist them in a great extend in producing abstract works or making designed handicrafts. Because girls are more enthusiastic about making pleasant works. Nevertheless, boys are more logical and apparently have a terrific idea to solve tough problems. Therefore, they can make strenuous efforts in invent practical products. For instant, in my culture, the women have a remarkable taste in designing dinner tables and the men are deeply good at repairing dilapidation. However, in my reckoning, altering the mindset is crucial because of acquiring the latest knowledge based on psychological studies. According to the new psychological findings, artists have a great deal of IQ then individual of average ability and there are numerous well-known artists in both genders. Moreover, there are myriads of famous woman scientists over the word like Maryam Mirzakhan. Consequently, in my book, limitation of pupils in selecting sexual major will have eradicated within ten years. In conclusion, although girls are more artistic and boys more reasonable, student abilities shouldn’t be ignored due to gender views.

selection is very important in school and university life. Many girls choose art school, and boys choose science. The main reason may be gender inequality and pervasive superstition. I believe that in further, the proclivity will no longer exist and both sexes will be identical to admitting in science as we are living in the modern age. A great deal of discrimination is still in our society. The first inconsistency may be gender disparity which leads women to admit to the arts. So, females are forced to continue the academic curriculum as art students. As our society is full of preposterSubjectous affairs, as a result, boys are motivated to be scientific pupils because they seem that only male students can do something for the country and their forte is higher than fair sexes. For instance, in my country, before this year, few girls are permitted to select technological subjects because of social and parental troubles. On the other hand, People are more judicious and shrewd than in the past and comprehend that both genders should be provided identical conveniences. Furthermore, to cope with the technology-operated world, both parents and society are reclaiming their infallibilities concerning making girls scientists. Afterward, they arrange a wide variety of free seminars to make individuals understand the importance of being a scientist. For example, a couple of years ago, the government of Iran decided to have women read immune to charge if they study in any technological institution. Therefore, according to statistics, prominent girls were accepted into some scientific departments. Finally, the paper explains that choosing girls for art and boys for contemporary subjects is a combination of pre-existing sexism and superstition, and why this trend will never materialize in a few years. I have also provided evidence for I believe that some important steps need to be taken to resolve this trend.
